About the event
This is the place that always astounds first-time visitors. A two and a half hour drive from Lafayette and your senses are filled by the sights, sounds and fresh fragrances of trails carved into steep moss-covered ravines that lead you to, over, or under four waterfalls. If you are quiet and patient, you could see chipmunks, marbled salamanders, and possibly birds of prey, or wild turkey. A unique wilderness, civilized by the beautifully constructed staircases and observation decks, but still possessing miles of undeveloped stream-beds surrounded by towering ridges.
Difficulty: The terrain is hilly. While we will only be covering 3-4 miles, be prepared to walk uphill on several sections. There is uneven terrain when walking around the waterfall areas. This is a level 2 hike which will be challenging but doable for beginners in good physical condition.
$45 per person Price Includes: On trail snack and guide
Meeting Details - Meet at Pack & Paddle at 8am. You can meet at the trailhead at 10am if that's more convenient for you. Directions to the trailhead will be in your confirmation email after you sign up. We expect to be back in Lafayette between 3 and 5pm.
